Why is KVM virtualization better than OpenVZ?
Users often encounter information that powerful VDS servers can be built using OpenVZ or KVM virtualization. We'll briefly explain why we build our VDS exclusively using KVM virtualization:
OpenVZ is a type of operating system-level virtualization. All virtual environments use a single kernel, which prevents customization and flexibility of the OS or the installation of an operating system from a custom ISO template on a virtual machine. There are also limitations on running game and VPN servers, and a lower level of data security.
KVM is hardware virtualization. Each virtual machine uses its own OS kernel, and you can install FreeBSD, Linux, or Windows, or use your own ISO image for installation. Stream VDS is guaranteed to provide the resources it claims to provide. You can run any project (except distributed computing systems, such as Bitcoin mining). Data stored on the virtual server is more secure.
